DEATH VALLEY NATIONAL PARK
Death Valley! Excitement abounds when one dares to be challenged with an excursion into this spectacular park. At 3.3 million acres (13,350 sq km) in California and Nevada, the space is there for your explorations to be unending. At Badwater below sea level very near the lowest point in North America (-282 ft / -86 m), one regularly experiences temperatures in Summer like 120+ F (50+ C), standing there on the saltpan so brilliantly and blindingly white. This scene reminds us of a snowy, frozen lake.
The Desert Doc has been going on regular, memorable adventures to Death Valley for twenty-nine years now. And it’s always the standard routine for me to do primitive camping in the backcountry. The MISSION STATEMENT for my business Death Valley Landscapes reveals, with clarity and certainty, my perspective in this decades’ long association I’ve enjoyed with this place, exploring and doing professional landscape photography in Death Valley’s unique environments.
The trifold brochure I put together, as a graphic artist and photographer, provides a nice introduction to the huge park, in addition to its function as advertising material for my LLC.
