Here is a gorgeous field of Sand Verbena (Abronia villosa) and a couple of luxuriant specimens of Desert Gold (Geraea canescens). I published several images of the Dark Rock Dunes in the first volume of my 3-set autobiography. Where the hell are the Dark Rock Dunes? I know those knowledgeable of Death Valley National Park will ask. I promised myself not to tell that story until the second volume; however, there are clues in the current book, the first volume. Besides Sand Slope Mountain, Dune Fin #1, and Dune Fin #2 that one sees in this scene, the Dark Rock Dunes sport as well: Dune Fin #3, Dark Rock Mountain, Red Top Peak, the Giant Dune Wall, the Pregnancy Dunes, and Watercolors Valley. Great place! The story about how I discovered this place in 2014 is captivating.
